March 22nd and 23rd, 2013.
Join The State Ballet of Rhode Island in celebrating it's 53
rd performing season with Herci Marsden's full-length staging of
Giselle.
Giselle is one of the oldest and most romantic of classical ballets in the world.
The original choreography was after SBRI's artistic advisor, Sir Anton Dolin, after Jean CoralIi, with music by Adolphe Adam.
Gisellewas first performed for Rhode Island audiences in 1964 by The State Ballet of RI before an overflow audience at Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
At the same time, world-famous Anton Dolin, guest choreographer for Giselle, also played Hilarion in The State Ballet production.
The State Ballet is Rhode Island's longest standing classical ballet company that performs a service for its region. Family audiences and dancers continue to discover the company's cultural treasures.
