Hello Patrons of the Arts. BEGINNING MONDAY, Tickets are on sale Monday for both of The State Ballet of Rhode Island performances, Coppélia & Giselle! READ HERE on how you can get the seats you love for both ballets at the same time.

Highlights of the season include presentations of two of the most timeless ballets in classic repertory: Coppélia and Giselle. Both ballets will be performed at Roberts Auditorium, RI College in Providence.

Coppélia, a longstanding tradition in SBRI performance history, will be performed on December 14th and 15th. Known for its comedic and light-hearted storyline in the classic repertory, Coppélia features an eccentric toy maker, lifelike dancing dolls, and a happily-forever-after wedding celebration. Opening night offers a pre-performance complimentary reception before 7:30pm show time. Then for kids there is "Tea Time in the Toy Shop" on Saturday with light food, refreshments (tea), and dessert along with a visit from the show's cast of characters, followed by a backstage tour, all before the 2pm Matinee. Tragedy comes into play on March 22nd and 23rd with Giselle, SBRI's signature ballet. One of the most poignant and heartfelt love stories of its time is about a peasant girl and the nobleman who breaks her heart. Giselle is noteworthy for its intense lyricism and heartbreak. From happiness to sadness, Giselle will give you the "Wilis".
